BREAKING BARRIERS SUMMIT: MAKING THE INVISIBLE…VISIBLE


Over 600 students and teachers from every Catholic High School in the Diocese were present (Archbishop

Hoban, Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, St. Joseph Academy, St. Ignatius, St. Edward, Padua Franciscan, Walsh Jesuit, Our Lady of the Elms, Trinity, Holy Name, Lake Catholic, St. Martin de Porres, Elyria Catholic, Cleveland Central Catholic, Beaumont, Benedictine, Villa Angela St. Joseph, Magnificat, Gilmour, St. Peter Chanel, St. Vincent St. Mary) as well as students from St. John's Jesuit (Toledo) and Warren JFK (Youngstown).

Held at St. Ignatius High School on the 10th Anniversary of the founding of CSPJ. Eucharist with Most Rev. Bishop Richard Lennon (Inspiration: Luke 10:29, “Who is My Neighbor?”), Keynote Address by Sister Helen Prejean CSJ, and Educational Workshops featuring over 40 presenters from Northeast Ohio raising our awareness of the “invisible” populations in our midst who are affected by POVERTY, TRAFFICKING, DISABILITIES, MIGRATION, INCARCERATION, AND VIOLENCE. Planning team included over 20 students and teachers from 7 schools (St. Martin de Porres, St. Joseph Academy, Lake Catholic, St. Ignatius, Holy Name, Beaumont, Walsh Jesuit) and Diocesan Social Action Office
